Why MWF?

Our organization is proud to welcome the Minnesota Foraging Alliance into the Minnesota Wildlife Federation, building on our long history of advocating for hunting and angling as responsible, sustainable uses of natural resources. We see foraging advocacy as a natural extension of this legacy—one that reflects the same values of stewardship, ethical harvest, and deep respect for the land. By expanding our board of directors to include leaders from the foraging community, we are strengthening our mission to protect Minnesota’s natural resources while ensuring they remain accessible “by all, for all, with all.”

What is MNFA?

The Minnesota Foraging Alliance seeks to organize, inform, and collaborate with Minnesota’s diverse foraging communities. Interest in foraging is growing across Minnesota! That growth along with a desire to see foraging actives managed in a responsible and respectful way led to the creation of the Minnesota Foraging Alliance. Our goal is to create an informed network of foragers who are better able to advocate for public access and foraging regulations that respect the inherent rights of foragers to pursue an activity as old as humanity in partnership with our state natural resource managers and legislative leaders.
